Bovet Primary Shines on the Dance Floor

In October and November 2017, the students of Bovet Primary School made waves at the SADTA Gauteng Latin & Ballroom Championships and the SADTA National Latin & Ballroom Championships. Representing the best of Alex’s Rising Stars Program, these young dancers showcased their passion, dedication, and undeniable talent, proving that hard work and mentorship can make dreams a reality.

Alex’s Rising Stars Program

This transformative program, led by Alissa Steyl and Dr. Christine Jann-Kruger, was created to uplift and empower the youth of Alexandra through dance and education.

  • Dance Training: Every Wednesday afternoon, Alissa worked tirelessly with the children, teaching Latin and Ballroom techniques and fostering discipline, confidence, and a love for dance.
  • Health & Wellness: Christine brought a unique dimension to the program by educating the students on the importance of a healthy lifestyle, ensuring they were not only prepared for the dance floor but for life itself.

The synergy of dance and wellness created a holistic approach to the children’s development, enabling them to perform their best both physically and mentally.
